My Outdoor Reading Essentials

Now that the heat has finally broke out West, spending the mornings reading outside has been my new favorite activity. With such a hectic day-to-day schedule, it is so important to me to make time for my favorite hobbies and to get a little Vitamin D (and not the silicone kind lol). I am so fortunate to have a small patio space to make this possible and I wanted to share all the things I've used to make it more homey, comfortable, and conducive to spending hours on end reading outside.

Firstly, I'll start with just my general reading essentials. Currently, I am using a Kindle Basic for my e-reader. I love that it is so versatile, easy to see outside, and has such a long battery life. My only complaint about this one is that it is not water proof, so if that's important to you, I would recommend going with the Paperwhite model.

I typically access all of my books through Kindle Unlimited. It is a very worthwhile investment if you are even reading one book per month. While it doesn't usually have the super popular titles, the selection of sapphic books and indie authors is abundant and I never run out of titles to read. Alright, now on to my outside essentials!

This two-person hammock has been great for my wife and I to enjoy the time together outside. It is also usable with only one person, but a little trickier to get in and out of! It has a built in pillow and anti-flip bars. It is easy to put up and take down and comes with a storage bag as well.

The blanket in the video is the Barefoot Dreams blanket, however I also have this checkered throw that is the same material and more lightweight. I need to get another in a different color to match my hammock more than the sage green (which matches my bedroom). My cat is also a huge fan of this blanket and has pretty much claimed it for himself, so beware if you have a feline friend.

Also, I know that Halloween is almost over, but I will be sad to have to retire my FrostBuddy. So, I will definitely be getting another color for the rest of the year. I love that it is not just a water cup, but it can also do hot liquids, hold to-go cups (hello iced coffee), and holds a chapstick and carabiner clip (iykyk).

Lastly, no morning would be complete for me without an energy drink to pep me up. My recent favorites have been the Alani Nu drinks, especially the Pink Slush flavor.

Just dropping here some little extras, like my favorite sunscreen, sunglasses, my pullover, and the biker shorts.
